I love chamber music, the warm and cosy feeling that it gives, that intimacy with the music itself, is not comparable to what one gets from the big orchestral work. And what else could one ask for : the trio of Pablo Casals (cello), Alfred Cortot (piano), and Jacques Thibaud (violin)! Their recording in 1927 on Mendelssohn’s D Minor Piano Trio, Op.49 , 2nd Movement, Andante con moto tranquillo, is incredibly beautiful, and is one of my favourite piece of chamber music. Enjoy!
